Following his autumnal drift, the ninth child of Etang Brulant is a dark jewelery. Coming from north of Italy, Wooden Corpses (formed by two members of the sludge band 'Sator') delivers a medieval ballad, oscillating between doom metal and pagan folk inspirations. Lead by heavy distorted guitars and guttural shouts, the five-track project is an exploration of ritual history and religious feeling, using both characteristics of secular and sacred music in order to create a timeless atmosphere. In a finale full of hope and beauty, a voice with a slight delay sings nobly as an antique prophet, and a ceremonious rhythm finish to accomplish the divine apparition of a red god. This is Wooden Corpses, back from depths of middle age to our present days.
